About Me

Hi,

My name is Blake Bittorf (he/they/él), and I’m committed to simply learning for life. Born and raised in Oxnard, California—the Strawberry Capital of the World—I’ve spent much of my life soaking up the many beautiful rays that life has to offer.

As an undergraduate student at St. Lawrence University (SLU), I’ve sought out ways to serve and honor shared senses of the common good. Whether as a student senator, trained advocate, or volunteer, my goal is to strengthen relationships within the SLU community.

Everything starts by listening and consistently showing up. Every person has a story; every story has a character; and every character undergoes character development. Perhaps the best stories are those written about a character quickly liked/not-liked, whose development outpaces an observer’s initial judgment. They become stories and endings that are never forgotten, leaving tokens of lessons meant to be learned and shared.

I believe listening and awareness, for when to be anchored in the present, lead toward better experiences of a universal common good.
